Tashkent → Bukhara transfer
570 km · about 8 h (usually 8–9 h)
The direct Tashkent–Bukhara drive takes about 8 hours via Jizzakh, Samarkand and Navoi — the longest of the country’s frequently booked routes. For this distance many choose the Sharq train (faster) or a domestic flight, and book a car mainly to stop in Samarkand for a couple of hours along the way instead of driving straight through.

Frequently asked questions
- Is it worth breaking the trip with a stop in Samarkand?
Many travellers do exactly that: the city sits roughly halfway, and half a day at Registan doesn’t add much to the overall drive to Bukhara.
